I've had the Treo 650, and quite honestly, with the better screen, bluetooth, backlit, etc. etc. It's a great upgrade, but i think it's not worth it anymore. Initially when i had the phone i ran into many problems. I was a die hard Palm fan, but now seeing how and why palm is losing so much market share, and lack of innovation, it's obvious why alot of people are switching.

As for the i730. Im waiting very very patiently for this phone. Large screen, wifi, ev-do, bluetooth, 128MB flash rom , 64MB mem, and possible camera, as well as a great keypad from reading reports from other sites that had their correspondants test it , plus cool slider, and not that much bigger than the treo, i think this is the best bet. Besides, treo 650 doen...

i'm going through the same thought process... i like the treo form factor, but really like the evdo on the i730.

i just wish there was some info on the release date for the i730 so that i could decide what to do.... i'd like to see one up close and hold it in my hand also.

verizon is ridiculous when it comes to phones and info. their secrecy does NOT help them and only frustrates customers. I know dozens of people who have left verizon over their poor choice of phones and bad habit for coming out with things late.

this samsung is descent and a good improvement for verizon... but at least letting customers know an 'approximate' expected date would be nice.

I too am a Palm loyalist but this Verizon phone has me looking into pocket pc and ready to switch. Samsung has become a great factory and I can't deal with just a mini-keyboard like on the Treo. I can write Graffiti much faster than I can type the back key after pressing the wrong key on the keyboard. It'll come out when Verizon is ready and I'm gonna wait. After all, I don't want to be one of those people who has to come crawling back to Verizon BECAUSE I CAN'T USE THE COOL PHONE AS A PHONE because of the dropped calls, lousy reception and bad customer service.

I spoke with my inside sales rep yesterday and she said it will definitely be this month on the i730! Of course, don't blame me if she was wrong. 😁

Maybe so, but it's not quite a win-win for companies to give out their release date. Say they give tell us May when they still aren't sure...if they then MISS that date, the customers are all over them like they stole their first born. Complaints come in, people bitch and moan about how horrible they are with making their dates, etc...
People need to better understand and better accept the technology development and testing process that is necessary with the unique process of soft/hardware development. But, most dont, and nothing is fast enough for the lamen consumer... I wouldn't want to deal with the headaches either.

😁 😁 Treo 650 will be out on B2B on may 11... but will go retail on the 25th. This is from Verizon... trust me. But Verizon does change dates. When it comes to the i730... Verizon has not even told employees that it will be on its network. But the sortage and discontinuation on the i700 and i600 should say something. But I didnt say anything ok... πŸ˜‰

My new 650 is ordered and set for delivery with in 3 to 5 days. I had to finally give up on my second 6600 for poor battery life .. I did all the battery conservation techniques that I could find and still lost data by 2 pm .. I loved the functionality of the 6600. I hear of people who charge and change batteries as much as three times a day . cant use it no mater how cool it is if it don’t run…I watched the battery level drop from 83 percent to 76 percent just sitting on my desk in about 35 min while talking to Vzw service. Has any one else had any better experience? Ps I think I am only a moderate user – 3000 phone min per months which I use on my I610 – 3 web pages per day and twice a day email check -the calendar three times a day. This...

It may be too late for you, but the new Windows Mobile 5.0 which came out yesterday is supposed to get about 47% better battery life.

Yep I noticed and checked out the 520 MHz Intel Bulverde,on the I730 which has multiple speed capabilities and will save up to 34% but I could not wait. 😒 But no worries I made sure the guy I pass this phone down to when the time comes will be happy with the 650.. me too I hope πŸ™‚
