i know you lg freaks have seen and heard about the 8500, i know i have. what do you guys think about it so far.

I don't like sliders in general. no protection for the main screen. It looks like it would be clumsy in your hand. and the Chocolate???? come on.

Ditto... the whole slider thing was cool when the Matrix introduced us to one of the first (from Nokia) and it was a fad for a while but in the end, it's a candybar that elongates to twice the length, but still needs to be somewhat fat for the mechanicals. A flip still provides the best combination of size and functionality I think. The only downside there is that the size of the screen is limited compared to more 'fixed' form factors.

😁 I think the "Chocolate Bar" or whatever they are calling the 8500 LOOKS like a really cool phone, almost like a black ipod, probably trying to match/compete with the style of the Moto-Slvr, but a slider that just reveals a standard phone pad beneath, I mean c'mon, at least throw a qwerty keyboard under there or something else. I was thinking about upgrading to this phone IF it had ALL of the features of the 8300, if not MORE. I will definately check the 8500 out when it comes out in stores to see what it feels like in my hand, but unless it is really thin, I'm prolly gonna' just wait fot the 9900. 🙄 🙄
