Anyone been able to add wma files to their miniSD card and have the VCAST music player able to read it? I can't use WMP10 since I keep getting "server threw an exception" error whenever WMP10 tries to resample my audio file, apparently it doesn't like the combo of SW I've got on my system, so I tried converting to wma and vcast still won't play it... anyone else had same issue and been able to fix it?

When you put the files on your card, are you putting them in the MY_MUSIC folder or the MY_MP3 folder? IF you put them in the mp3 folder, the phone won't recognize them. They have to be in the my music folder. Not sure if they will play through the vcast player, but it's worth a shot. I personally don't use the vcast feature, i just stick with mp3's. Also...you may want to look around as to how to turn off and on mp3 support. If mp3 support is turned on in the phone, it won't recognize a .wma file. Also, vice versa, if mp3 support is turned off, the only file is will recognize is a .wma
Hope this helps!

first, the software version on your phone must be at least T81VZV07...second, you must format your card from the phone by settings & tools/system/manage memory/card memory...on the options menu choose format card.

That is also true if you have version 6, although software version 6 or 7 work.....

I've got them in the My_Music folder. The player will recognize WMA files that I've downloaded off of the VCAST music store in WMP10, however won't recognize the WMA files that I've generated.
Tried using several WMP codecs even (regular 9, pro, lossless) all to no avail. It's driving me nuts!

Put your MP3's into WMP and they will automatically convert for you and go on your phone just fine.

If you are trying to put songs on your phone by first putting them on a card via a card reader, my understanding is that it will not work. You need to add the songs through the Verizon USB cable that they make you buy at the store. I tried to simply drag WMA songs from my computer to the card, however the phone won't see them. I think you need to have them in Windows Media Player (10.0 or higher), create a sync list, then transfer it.

ok heres the thing with the phone and vzw. as of version 07 the phone only plays wma. in addition the song has to be protected, when i tried converting mp3 to wma it didn't work because the program i used wouldn't leave the data of the songs on. by protected i mean that the phone has to think that the song was gotten legally. i talked to a higher level tech support rep about this. what i did was made a cd from my mp3s, as a regular audio cd like for a car cd player, then ripped the songs using windows media player straight into wma format, and it works just fine, i just installed my minisd card and synced the ripped songs from my computer onto the card and it works just fine too. its a thing that vzw does so there wouldn't be a fight wit...

You do know that you can turn the MP3 player back on with V07 if you rather use that, right?

To re-enable the MP3 player:
1) Enter the menu and press 0. You will then be prompted for a service code, which on Verizon phones should be 000000.
3) Scroll down to the last menu option which should be "Music Setting", at which point, you can select the MP3 function which will restore MP3 support. Chose this then exit out of the menu.
3) At this point MP3 playback will be available under Tunes and Tones (again).
4) To switch the dedicated music playback buttons to the MP3 player from the VCast music player, go to Tools, then Shortcut Key, and chose the MP3 Player instead of VCast Music.
As far as making playlists, you cannot unless you are using VCAST MUSIC.
