WMA files into My_Music

Ok, I just got the V07 firmware upgrade on Friday. Activated the MP3 player in the secret menu. I can drag my MP3 files into the My_MP3 folder on my SD card and they work great.

However, when I drag my WMA files (even the unprotected ones) into the My_Music folder, they will not play on the phone. I get an "application digital signature failure. (1049)" error.

From reading other threads, it seems like people have had success in putting WMA files onto the SD card. Are you doing it through the reader? Or are you synching with the phone over the cable?

If you have the MP3 player re-enabled then you can only put MP3's on. If you want to put WMA's on, then you need to disable the MP3 player and put them in the MY_Music folder with VCAST Music enabled.

I've been putting .wma files right into the My_Music folder on the SD card, and they play fine - and I did'nt have to re-disable the MP3 player.

Works for me as well. I can do both wma and mp3.
Have you reformatted your SD card since the upgrade?

One thing I like about playing WMA files rather than MP3s is that the media player will pause the playback when a csll comes in, rather than shutting it down. The playback resumes after the call is complete. Now if I could figure out how to pause it manually so I can make a call, I'd be happy.
