What do you love about the 8100?
what will i learn to hate on my 9800 and wish i would have gotten the 8100?
I'm losing sleep over the two.
The 9800... will i get sick of it and hate being suck with it for 2 whole years?
Do you just absolutely love your 8100? 😁

The one and only thing I dont love about my 8100 is the static ringtones with the mp3 player is being used on shuffle. Other than that I have no complaints at all. I really like this phone a lot, by far the best phone I have ever had.

When you have GIN ringtones (or ringtones from bitpim as I have heard) and you are listening to the mp3 player and you have it on shuffle. When the phone rings or an alarm goes off it turns the ringtone into a loud static...every call or alarm after this is also static.

The stop the static and let your normal ringtones go back in you just have to turn the mp3 player on and turn it back off.

If you are not listening to the mp3 player in shuffle it does not happen.

It is supposed to be addressed in V05 but we all know how that goes.

What if your not using GIN or Bitpim ringtones though? does the static still occur?

I do not believe so. I tried this with my parents phones. They have absolutely no other ringtones other than the original ones on the phone and I did not get static at all. So my guess from that is no.

You will get the static on all of the above. But from what I was told by a tech is that the static occurs only on ringers 5 thru 9 when using the VZW ringers. I read on HoFo that a guy had his BitPim installed ringers do the same thing...turn to static. Like I said before if you have the problem call your local store and have a tech fill out a product report so that the problem saturates the system. The sooner they hear the complaints the sooner there is a fix.
