Voice Command

Does anyone know if there is a way of voice command to use the default number 1st? Always prompts alphabetically, home-mobile-work. I know you can switch the numbers around, but that can be confusing. 🙄

Yes...go into your contact...edit...highlight the number you want as default...options (right soft key)...set as default.

Default does not work with voice command. It always asks for home, mobile work, in that order no matter what is specified as default.

I just tried it and it did offer "mobil" as the 1st choice. Then I switched to "home" and it does default to home 1st.

Yup...that is what mine does...whichever is the default is what it offers as the first choice.

On a related topic...what about voice digit dial for short numbers like 611 or 411? It doesn't seem to work when I've tried it. I have Verizon programed on my phone, but I guess I will have to add information too.

Very interesting. I never have tried using digit dial for those...I guess I just assumed they worked. When I tried them just now I see that they dont. I guess you would just have to create an entry in the contact list with those. Very interesting. 😕

Yea it's kind of silly. I guess it wants specifically a 7 digit or 11 digit format. It should allow you to do a shorter number, but it apparently waits for more numbers. You should be able to to use a command like "end" or something to tell it to dial after 3 numbers. Oh well, live and learn.

Yea I expected more in the voice command area. Funny thing is I recently filed an insurance claim for a Kyocera phone I have and they sent me an LG 4500 as a replacement. It's an older model, but the voice commands are better than the 8100. The voice is much clearer and there are extra voice command functions like phone status which gives you battery life and signal strength. There is something called driving mode that announces the number that is calling. Oh well, but I still love my 8100. 😉

Finally got it to work by erasing home and work, then setting mobile as default and re-entering the other numbers.
