I found a issue with my phone. If I set my phone to use a downloaded audio ringer and have my phone set for silent mode and i receive a text and open it. My phone may display its in silent mode but it will still rings. But if i use a ringer that came with the phone no issue, works just fine. Has anyone had this problem?

If you press the * button to put the phone on vibrate, it will vibrate with no ring at all times. If you go to menu, settings & tools, sounds, call sounds, call vibrate and choose "on" then it will vibrate AND ring at all times. If your phone is doing anything other than this then it is due to a defect in your phone or you "hacked" it in some way and messed this up. That's why I have never and will never mess with menu 0, bitpim, etc. etc. etc.

I know the issue you are talking about..
--I have loaded ringers on my phone with BitPim not prob, same thing with ringers I tried from GIN (employees get 1/2 off GIN anyways!) and have had no problem.

--My buddy on the other hand, who has loaded ringers on his phone with QPST has the problem constantly, he can have it set on silent, get a call and it rings. I guess it is something caused by deleting one of the files you have to delete for QPST maybe?

Yes, I had the same problem with my last 8100. I haven't noticed it on this one yet though. And this is comming from a guy that has never hacked his phone. Anyway, I encourage you to actually search for this thread, because it's been posted numerous times before.

I believe its the method of how you'll are tinkering with your phones thats causing these problems. If you really wish to create your own ringtones or put songs on your phone w/o messing up your phone then you need a program called MAGIX ringtone maker. It allows you to create ringtones and it automatically converts the ringtone to the format of your choosing basically allowing you to apply the ringtone to any phone. You can create your own ringtones then use Bitpim 0.7.35 to transfer the ringtones or songs to your phone w/o having to delete some so called .dat file.

While I applaud the ones who say I don't mess w/ my phone. You are really short changing yourself in the long run. For instance if a mechanic told you I can make your ...
