Possible mp3 player solution
im sure that most of you by now have figured out how to save songs and videos in their respective folders on your memory cards, (like My_Sounds and My_Pix/Flix), in order for your phone to recognize that they are there and be able to play them. And im sure that most of you have seen the error message "Voice Memo Not Available" when you hold down the voice button while your phone is closed.
with that said, think through this with me. what if our phones are programmed to recognize that files are there only if they are in "certain" folders with "certain" names? obviously this is true because if you just save your files to a memory card and dont put them in the correct folder, your phone wont "see" them.

I am with you and think that you probably hit the nail on the head! I will try to find the time to work on it this weekend if someone else hasn't cracked it yet! I do think though that we will have our software update soon through VZW. If the Moto E815 has a working MP3 player then it doesn't make sense to disable it on the 8100 unless it had problems. My hopes are high... 🙂

Hi There ! I was able to download some MP3 files from my desk top to the SD card. I can't get the 8100 to recognize the MP3 files. With a friends help I was able to access the "Media Player" on the 8100:

sorry, this post is just an attempt to put this thread at the top of the list again. i really hope the right people read this, cause i think it may be the key.
and i dont know about you guys, but when i come on here to LEARN how to fix something or make it work, i REALLY dont like wasting my time reading peoples countless short posts that dont have anything WORTHWHILE to read. so unless you have insight or have made progress in this certain area...i really dont wanna hear your personal problems and feelings, likes/dislikes, or even things like "im switching phones", cause i am on here to figure stuff out. capish? ok thanks...

First of all, we are all trying to figure things out AND we can write anything we want, just as your post here that dosn't include a fix for the mp3 but rather rambling/complaining etc. You just did the exact thing your telling people not to do! You may want to think before you type.
