I havent had much chance to read through the whole forum but i found out something neat about the speaker phone. There is a way to use the speaker phone while the phone is still closed. Only thing is u need a earpiece to pull this trick off. Just set your phone to speaker phone. Plug in your earpiece jack and dial a call like you normally would, then close the phone and unplug the earpiece and THERE YOU HAVE IT, an unflipped speaker phone for ur convenience. Doesnt work for all features so u can have fun with trying out what works and what doesnt. I know u can pull it off with the Voice command. Some of you might find this option useful since i almost went with the E815 for this reason. LG has once again showed its potency, Loving m...

The only way this works is with a call in progress. If you are in the middle of using voice command, and you pull the earpiece plug, you will drop the connection. Also, you don't have access to any control buttons. You don't even have a way to end a call without opening the phone -- yes, you could just let the call die if the other party hangs up first. Yes, this does trick the phone into keeping the speaker active with the flip closed, but only has a very limited application.

Okay... call me nuts, but this whole thing is by-design due to closing the flip being set to hanging up the call. SO... can't you go into the menu and set the phone to *not* hangup the call with the flip, but rather mandate hanging up via "End" only (yes, this is a menu setting in there... I've seen it). That way, you could make the call normally and close the flip without kililng the call. The only downside (although it's totally by-design) is that hanging up would require hitting end.

I like being able to hang up the call with the flip, so I haven't done it but I don't see how that wouldn't work.

No, I listen to my mp3's through my stereo headset, and you CAN pull out the plug and hear them through the phones speakers with no interruption, but again, only if the phone is open. No way right now to do it with it shut.
