Hey everyone just want to say Brought back my phone for a new one cause i was getting crappy reception . They had no problem giving me a brand new one reception seems to be allot better . Just want to say i really like this phone . My ? IS i might have new software because on my old phone i did not have in the contacts the option to dial #pmt and #min ,#BAL and with the new phone it is there in my contacts i thought it was strange but it seems like everything is working great 😎 i returned and received my new one on 7/26 have not played with anything else but i will see if anything else changed

I'm not much of a techie, but if you post your software versions, that might let us know if you have some sort of upgrade. There was a previous post where we all confirmed what version we had, I'm just curious if yours is different because of the features you mentioned. My SW is version T81VZV01.

1. Press "Menu"
2. Go to "Settings & Tools"
3. Go to #4, "System"
4. Go to #3, "Device Info"
5. Go to #2, "SW Version"

I know, there are a lot of numbers here, but the first one, "SW Version", is the only one I'm asking about. Thanks.

which version seems to be the "bad" one and which is good?

We don't have any evidence that there is a good or bad version. That's why I asked for ROCKK420 to post his, as it appears he has something in his phone that wasn't there before. I'm hoping there has been a SW upgrade, although I think that's doubtful.

Is it possible his "new" phone is actually someone's "returned" phone, and that's why there are some entries in "Contacts?" Just a thought!! 😕

Is there any way for Verizon to reset the life timer?

I dont think they can reset that timer , but you never know if that was the case i think verizon would be selling all used phones . The rep pulled it out of the box and it looked new like the first one i got all sealed and battery off and sealed in plastic . even had the blue plastic on front and back and even on the sd slot

Then it sounds brand-new to me!! And from a legal standpoint, I don't think Verizon can sell used equipment and call it "new."

What percentage of 8100's sold do you think have been returned? I returned mine after 7 days, and I'm waiting a bit longer to get another one.

Good luck with yours!! 😁

Well from what the reps tell me there is not many getting returned ,but when i was there someone called and all she said they have plenty in stock i bet it was about the 8100. Why are you returning yours again what problems are you having . Are you switching to another phone or sticking with the 8100 all and all i like the phone

Do us a big favor:

1. Can you post your software version, all of it, so we can compare with our phones.

2. What does the contact actually listed on your phone as? VZ payment or PMT or etc? I have my contact transefered from my old phone, so i dunno whether it is appended to it or not.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Mine are exactly the same as that. i haven't had any pictures disappear permanently, but i am having some of the volume issues and there was one point where I could see the thumbnial pics but not the regular ones. i powered off and on and it seems to be fine now but i am still nervous about it.

Thanks ROCKK420.

I do not see #pmt or #min or #bal on my contacts.

On the version, everything you mentioned is the same except the PRL. mine is 50316.
Maybe because I am in Chicago and it is the midwest market. Where are you from Rockk420?

Can anyone clarify that?
😁
