hacking the phone

I know some of you might get annoyed at me for asking this, but does putting custom ringtones using QPST really work? Whenever I read instructions on how to put custom ringtones on the phone, people always say "do this at your own risk" so I wanna know if your phone got messed up in any way after hacking the phone.

I paid full price for my 8100 and my 15-day trial period is almost up, that's why i'm being really cautious cuz I don't wanna ruin the phone..

When there is a disclaimer saying it can turn the phone into a brick, that's usually enough to keep me from trying it.

different methods have a higher risk, the one explained on here using the sd card is relatively low risk, you should have no problems executing that one with exploding the phone.

why dont u all just suck it up and follow the tutorials! first of all, it's not a 15-day trial period lol, it's a 15 day return policy (not designed for you to test out every phone). people dont write the tutorials to **** with your so your phone will explode. these arent virii in the form of tutorials, these are people who are sharing information on their success with gettin the phone to do stuff. trust them. suck it up, give it a try. gotta take risks in life - no pain no gain

I don't think "sucking it up" resolves phone issues, further I think that everyone should be absolutely cautious of procedures that could compromise their phone rendering it useless. Finally after reading all the messages concerning false release dates, and making up fake conversations held with Verizon and LG CS Reps, even going as far as to doctor up digital images to make themselves appear more believable to complete strangers about having a phone, it is only common sense to get more than one opinion, and as much advice as needed to make you comfortable with a decision.
Life is short, take risks, use a net as needed!
too!

If you return the phone within 15 days and get a replacement, does the 15-day trial period begin again? 😕

no it doesn't, but within the first 30 days you can still get a brand new 8100 for free if yours craps out. keep in mind the techs have no way of knowing you screwed up the phone. if they don't see liquid damage or physical breakage they don't really care what happened.
