Whoa awesome post! 😎
What does the player look like? Does it give you the option of opening files from the card? Does it show up on the outer screen when you close the phone?

no idea piggy.
on another note looks like once you have a miniSD card you can listen to mp3s off of there. anyone tried this yet? i'm looking for a way to get an mp3 on the phone without using miniSD or USB/bluetooth. I tried vzwpix and I couldn't fool it by renaming the extension .mid - anyone?

Uh-oh. Do you think I have messed up my phone by recording a voice memo that can't be deleted (yet). Also, under "play file", do you have a folder with ***/media? (There are a couple of letters and then the "/media") I wasn't sure if that's a preset folder on the Media Player or if that's something I somehow added on there. Thanks!

Hey guys... I found the Media Player last week... but I still haven't figured it out... I've put snippetts of mp3's in the folder but they will only play if you go all the way back into the Media Player.. and i don't have my mini sd yet so it could work with that. Still working on the outside buttons... good luck and happy hacking

So once you're in mediaplayer, what are those 2 existing files (16452/mf & mmc1/media)? And how can I get files in there so I can use the player? And dp they have to be .min files also?

Thanks!

29 second mp3 file on the phone. the phone converts it to a native format qc3 or something. anyways here's how to do it. get a less than 30 second mp3. send it via email to your phone: yourmobilenumber@vzwpix.com
now the file will show up in my sounds folder. we now have to find a way to set files from there as ringers.
next, i have successfully used the media player. the first folder there contains flix taken from the phone. i'm guessin there's a way to make a video using just sound and saving it. btw, LG says there's no mp3 player. **** them i'm playin mp3s.

just pay $50 for a mini sd card, rename the songs .mid and shorten the name, move them to the sd card and they work just fine. i have 50 songs on the card plus 2 1 hour comic stand up routines by george lopez and robert schimmel, i compressed them to 3g files but had to throw them in my flix its great.

The card itself is write protected. Have to move the little thing on the card (read the posts about it, not sure, but it is on the card itself). And......You CANNOT play the songs as ringtones!

how do i get ringtones from my sounds set as a ringer? and which sound editor is everyone using? and where do i get the codecs to save them as mp3 or is there an easier way? to go about doing this and in the menu 0 setting for media player when i click on disable/enable nothing happens is that normal ir no? 😕

You cannot set files that are in "My Sounds" as ringers on the 8100. I'm using Power MP3 Cutter, I just googled for MP3 cutter. I don't know what codecs you are talking about, MP3's are not recognized by the phone.

I have played MP3s whole 3 min mp3s on my phone. all you have to do is take an mp3 on your computer and make sure file names are visible. then just change the name to "NameOfSong.qcp" and then save the file. this will change the mp3 to .qcp even tho the computer will say it wont. (even the icon will change to the qcp icon) then just save it to a mini sd card and you have full lengh mp3s on your phone that sound just as good as they did on your computer.

I had to remove the battery to "thaw" the darn thing--first time ever the phone has locked up on me. And, piggys, unbeknownst to me, on the media player was a phone conversation from last Saturday!!! Wonder what I pushed to record it, and why was it there and nowhere else???
The mysteries mount!!!
