LG VX-8100
I'm finding this hard to believe...
I'm finding it hard to believe that some people are already ordering the phone, especially through 611. The "someone I know," who is a supervisor at a call center said the latest email he has had says that the VX8100 will be "coming soon." Coming soon is not a date of release, and it could even mean coming soon in the next few weeks... OR months. He actually called West coast call centers because I had him really wondering what was going on that he didn't know about. Every center said the same thing... "coming soon." Verizon STAFF isn't even allowed to purchase the phone at this time. So, for all of you who HAVE THE PHONE ALREADY (or claim it is on display), do us all a favor- Give us the number to, or the location of the call center (or sto...

I "Inquired" about the VX8100 dierectly on LG's website. Apparently Verizon hasn't clued them in on a release date- FOR THEIR OWN PRODUCT????????

Unfortunately, LG does not know the release date for the VX8100 as this date is set by the service provider. Although we are the manufacturer of the phone, it is solely up to the retail store or service provider, Verizon Wireless, who will retail the equipment as LG does not sell equipment directly to the consumer. well, the first time I called on Friday they told me that I couldn't order it. I knew that it was just who I was talking to that didn't know how or didn't want to, due to the fact that I have seen others on this forum who have the phone and have given us pictures of it to prove it.
I called last night and got this helpful man who seen that the phone was in the system and was in stock. So he knew he could order it. Twenty-two minutes later I had the phone ordered, he had a little trouble putting the order into the system and had to split the charge into two diferent charges.
I don't think anyone would or should tell you which store they went to or more importantly, WHO helped them. Maybe cause they want to keep their jobs.

They're likely to "get in trouble" if they sold a VX8100 from a COMPUTER system anyway if that's what you're worried about... There is a RECORD of it, which means, SOMEONE knows they sold it.

well, it is easier for someone to find out about stuff when you inquire about as to just find your own way to get the phone.

611 and Telesales CANNOT order it... I'm in FL I even asked about the west coast area... how did you get yours? haha. There is NO way to order it apparently over here.

sometimes phones are released in different markets first. and sometimes phones get stolen from lg and sold on ebay before its released as well.

I believe you... I just pissed that Im getting the run around constantly... I've called stores (inc. circuit city) in about 8 states and spoken to over a dozen and a half sales reps. I pay well over $100/month and my phone stopped working, I bought this samsung and I hate it. I only have like 14 days to return it and NO ONE is giving me answers or ORDERING it for me. THEY'RE the ones telling me everyone on Phone Scoop is full of poop. 😡

call phone support and tell them you want to get a new phone then tell them what phone you want when they ask. If that person can't help you, hang up and call back. It took a 24min. fonecall to get my order to go through.
On another note, I was just at my local mall and asked a Authorized agent for the 8100, cause I was curious, and she said that they have them in stock. Asked her to show it to me and she said she wasn't aloud. I was thinking 'who cares, lemme see it'. But she didn't and I left.

I went to a FL store today and had them call there call center and there is no way to get the phone.
I was able to call while in FL to 611 but because I have a seattle number I was routed to a call center in AZ where CC was able to order it and ship it to me here in FL.

verizon never gives release dates unless it is a PDA phone, they are like ninja's attacking you with new phones at random.

they just discontinued the 8000, so it should be this month, probably within a week.
and the 3300 was already launched from the new line. now the 5200 and 8100 are the only new lg waiting to launch.

I called 611 on saturday and they gave the release date of july 11 so
I went to my store here in Michigan today when they opened at 9am, I wasn't surprised when the sales person had no ideal it was released today so I enlighten him i had to even tell him the price. so he looked on the pc and it told him it was comming soon, so he said this may be wrong let me try to order one for you, It took my order and I should have it in 3 days to my door. it cost me 106.00 out the door. 199.00 - 100.00 2up and then he gave me the 50 dollor rebate form. so hopefully Im good to go. 😁
