MSN, YAHOO, BUT NO AIM!?

So this new phone is supposed to be all that. But what is a new phone that doesn't have AIM? Do you know how many MORE people use AIM than yahoo messenger (or whatever is has), and MSN? ALOT.

Is it possible to download AIM onto this phone, or would you just have to do it the old fashion way, and log onto AIM MOBILE from aim.com, and receive text messages from people IM'ing you? Which, by the way, is what now, 10 cents up for 2? Hopefully you can download it. Correct me if I'm wrong

No offense dude, if you're buying a phone just to have AIM on it, then why don't you just go buy a different phone. The purpose of a cell phone is to make phone calls, am I correct? Cmon give me a break. If you decide not to buy a phone just because it doesn't have AIM, then you have issues.

Haha, i wasn't the one that was getting all into it, you want to though?

Lets do the math...if i was buying a phone JUST because it has AIM on it, don't you think I would buy a DIFFERENT phone, and be posting on DIFFERENT forums?

The jokes on you pal.
Try re-reading the original post, and see that I actually stated a question. There ya go o-smart-one
have a day! 😁

IMHO, there's no point in using your phone for AIM. Just use text messaging. Its faster and it probably comes out to about the same cost as connecting to 1x. Whatever dude...to each his own.

I'm not quite sure what to make of this. I mean, you download the Mobile IM application via Get It Now, and the app has all three: MSN, Yahoo and AOL Instant Messenger. Where did you hear it only had Yahoo and MSN? I don't really believe this is the case.

Is it me, or is NO ONE reading the second half of this post? Are you guys just reading the first half?
Except for a rare few, EVERYTHING on this board is from people guessing, and their opions (except for the occasional leak from VZW). I was just ASKING is AIM could still be donwloaded?

Oh, one more thing, sorry if i don't get your first true love all of your, you're "VX8100".

Seeing how your largest complaint is that no one has even acknowledged the second half of your post, I'll oblige. In Get It Now, you download an application called Mobile IM. This app has all three chat programs: MSN, Yahoo and AIM. You can't download these three programs individually so no, you won't be able to download AIM separately.

As far as signing on via AIM.COM, you do have that option. Signing on via this route or via the application doesn't make any real difference since they both charge text messaging. Each message you send to someone via the application is a text message, as is the one you receive, so really, you're being billed as if you were text messaging someone anyway. The price is currently 10 cents to send and 2...
