VERY Important question about the 8100!!!

Maybe I'm the only one who thought it was cool, but I really dug the way the 7000 lights up all disco-style when recieving calls. I know plenty out there disliked it, but since everyone has a cell it is nice to have something distinctive. Will the 8100 (or any phone ever again) have this feature? I swear to God I might get the 7000 over the 8100(!) just for this. Anyone's input is sure welcome, and if you have had a 7000, did you have any problems with it? Thanks all! 🙂

Yeah it flashes different colors like the 7000. Some think thats unprofessional looking. To each his own.

Yeah I hope you can disable that. I don't feel like being a walking fireworks display, especially since the phone won't be available in time for the 4th.

So if I am to understand this correctly, you believe the 8100 might be able to do this also? That would please me greatly. I know it looks unprofessional, but if you are at a club (noisy) having the phone on a table, and it lights up at least you can see that you have an incoming call. I'll tell what is unprofessional, when I have the phone in my top desk drawer at work, working with a customer, and the phone (vx10 I have now) vibrates and it sure is loud. Would love it if the 8100 lit up like the 4th! 🙂

Good point 🙂 My last 2 phones, the Moto V710 and VX6000 both have desktop chargers (LG comes with it). So when they vibrate, it's muted just enough so as not to disturb the co-workers (actually the Moto version has a nifty rubber ring around the top that acts as an effective damper). Based on what I've read here, I don't think the 8100 will come with a desktop charger, but I sure hope one becomes available.

the samsung a890 has a similar feature. what i like about the samsung is that it's defeatable. downside is when you have it activated it serves as the service indicator so it flashes every few seconds just to tell you it's on. that's really annoying. i'm kinda hoping the 8100 will give you the option to shut it off. (try discretely answering your phone if the lights are off. it looks like you've got a bomd) i love my 7000 by the way. if it had bluetooth i wouldn't even want to upgrade. just can't stand my wired headset anymore.
