I got the 8000 but the thing is such a beast and im thinking about trading it for the 8940. I havea few questions for those of you who have had it for a few days.

How do your own pictures look as wallpapers?
?can you use .mid as ringtones?
does sliding the thing get annoying for the camera?
does the phone feel sturdy?
Is it easy to use?
How was the battery life?
Does the callers picture come up when they call?
Does the screen feel big enough?

This is a tough decision because once i trade in the 8000 theres no going back so your feedback is greatly appreciated!

I turned my 8940 in after 24 hours.

The build quality was generally good but the keys are cheap black plastic (look and feel like it), smallish numeric characters. Keypad is poorly backlit compared to Samsung and LG. The "End" key doesn't even light up...just a dark area at night and, yes, I did check out other 8940s to be sure mine wasn't a dud.

The reception and sound quality are actually very good. I wasn't convinced at first, but after calling from different areas around town and to various individuals, I was pretty impressed with this aspect. What it's all about in the end, right? Well maybe....

Speakerphone...okay quality up to volume level 3 but hard to hear in vehicle and anywhere with much ambient noise. Started buzzing at...

After 3 days of use, i am this close to exchanging it (8940) for the samsung 890, or maybe getting a credit until the 815 comes out, all because of this stupid sd c-blocking un-feature. How the hell can verizon keep you from transfering ur own clips from the pc to the phone. i would think that was the whole purpose of the card. I have small panasonic av cams with sd cards that allow me to put whole movies on 256MB cards, which is cool , that is what i thought i would be able to do with this phone. Now I'm hearing the 815 and other new phones also will have these card/phone crippling features. Can anyone elaborate? Also, if someone finds out how to read the entire card on pc via hacking, please share information. Its too bad how this verizon,...
