We all know we can't get any reliable information by talking to Cingular representatives but when phonescoop says "Cingular swears the S710a will be available this month" wouldn't you think that they would be getting the info from a pretty high up source?

That's where I got to quote.

Let's also keep in mind that there are publications as well as commercials (one in particular aired extensively on NBC during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade) put out by Sony Ericsson that suggest this as a Christmas gift. Why would a company advertise something as a christmas gift that it couldn't sell? That's a waste of money. You can also read a little blurb about it in this month's Popular Science in their "Best of 2004" article.

good point. But then the superbowl is hardly suggesting that you buy it during the BIGGEST buying season of the year. I'm sayin that advertising as a x-mas gift, and then not following thru is a waste. There would be plenty of big spenders gearing up to buy the thing and then.....nothing. If they do that, it's a testament to idiocy at its finest.

Well, a guy who works with Cingular posted on the Cingular forum that the S710 will be available JUST in time for Christmas (December 24th). As always, we don't know how accurate these dates are. Keep ya'lls fingers crossed.
