with a megapixel, most cams still suck. the best is this sony. it uses a CCD instead of a CMOS chip, which they use in real cams (much better pic). EDGE is only on Cingular, so you're very limited, but it is def. worth it. for a good screen 262k colors (this phone) is the best you'll find anywhere, most are only on 64k colors. seriously, this phone has everything but the kitchen sink. you can use the bluetooth to share the fast EDGE 177kbs connection with your laptop for only 20 a month, it's just great.

as for what VGA is, VGA is a 640X480 resoultion. mega-pixel is usually 1280X960 or therabouts. my AIM name is NotJoelShapiro if you have any q's. i've been researching megapixel phones for about a year now, i'm in the same positio...

What kind of data plan do you get for $20 a month? The least expensive I've seen is $29.99 a month for only 10MB. That is extremely expensive for only getting 10MB of data a month. Considering all of the flash and graphics enhanced websites these days, that could easily get used up in less than a day. Unlimited data transfer is $79.99 a month. T-Mobile offers unlimited data for only $19.99 a month (only GPRS, not EDGE). I wish Cingular would make their data plans more affordable.

i dont know what you're smoking, but unlimited data is 20 bucks a month on Cingular (EDGE and GPRS).

it is part of their 2nd (i think it's called) mediaWORKS package. it includes like 400 SMS and 200 MMS messages.

verizon rips you off for data, T-Mobile doesnt have EDGE, Sprint has i think 20 bucks for unlimited, but it's only GPRS.

the only downfall with Cingular is that they dont offer 7pm nights and weekends, they're still on 9pm. But then again, they kinda make that up with rollover.

Wrong again my friend..Cingular DOES offer nights and weekends that start at 7pm..$7 additional on an individual plan or $14 on a family plan..been doing that almost a year now..and in your opinion, Nokias suck..hmmmm..I will put my 6620 with EDGE, 1GB of memory, bluetooth, etc up against anything that you may have right now.

i thought the $20 a month unlimited price was for wap only. so you can't take advantage of edge using that portion. i hope i'm wrong but that is what i heard from cingular cc. i have unlimited but speeds are still slow. tried on the 6620(great phone, nokia) and did not see a diference from my se 616.

WAP or regular internet should be the same..they would PREFER those of us who have Smartphones or PDA's not have that package because they know we can do serious graphics and things and accumulate lots of data usage..too bad for Cingular!!..all of the internet features are accessed through the MediaNet GPRS connection on your phone, so technically, they have no actual way of knowing if you are using WAP or HTML..

What I'm smoking??? Why don't you ask the dumb a$$ cingular rep that gave me that information what she's smoking? Anyway, I was told that I can't use my phone to bluetooth link my computer to the internet unless I purchase a data plan. I was told that the MediaNet plans will not allow me to access the internet with my computer, rather I can only use WAP features from the phone. Maybe the rep didn't know what she was talking about, or maybe she was just trying to bump up her commission. I don't know, but I know what I was told.

media works allows you to use EDGE/GPRS on an unlimited basis. all you need is bluetooth or a data cable and you will be able to use it. me and my friend use it all the time and haven't seen anything higher on our bills.

That is good to know. I'd hate to end up in the group of suckers paying $80 a month for a data plan when you can get the same thing for 1/4 the price. Thanx.

Thank youuuuuuuu, you are awsome!!! I do have so many q/a's ...i realy want a phone into mp3 and entertainment, is there any phones out there that have better mp3 data, but still as good as se i want...or do you think i would be ok with this phone. I want it to be mp3 mainly, i am all about the music.

its teh diff between s710 and s700 the flash on the camera?>>>> what is the diff??

So your saying stick witht eh se s710a ???

sn: zgurl101, hopefully we can talk..thanks again 🙂

the diff between the s710 and the s700 is that the s710 has EDGE (think 170-220 kbs vs 56k for internet) and the s700 just has the 56k speed, and the s700 has an FM radio. if you want MP3 playback, your best bet for a good phone is this sony. this phone is a jack of all trades, and it is just all around awesome. also, with the amazon.com rebate (as seen in a diff topic in these forums) you can get it for about a measely 270 bucks.

this is without question the best phone you'll be able to buy for a long, long time.
