Bluetooth fails when phone is connected to power
The Bluetooth works fine while the phone is operating on battery, but if I connect it to a power source, the Bluetooth fails.
My local Cingular shop and I tried this on my old V551, the replacement phone sent to address this problem and a brand new V551 from the store, all failed the same way. The Razr worked fine.
Of course Cingular simply want me to but a new phone and are claiming that it's not their problem...it's Motorola's. I have contacted both Cingular and Motorola to try to get some resolution on this.
Anyone else got a Handfree link they can try this with?
Thanks
Pete
One other difference is that the car uses the Handsfree link, and I'm not sure if this is different to the Bluetooth connection to a headset...anyone have more info?
Thanks
Pete
just fyi 😁
Then I went to my car and hooked up to my old Verizon travel charger and the BT stayed connected but when trying to make a call the "Call Failed" message came up again. So I bought a new Moto travel charger ($15.95) and everything works OK again.
I think this is just Moto's way of separating us from our hard earned bucks. 😕

You got it.
My cousin works for Moto and she said that there are known problems when using non-Moto power cords. I have since purchased a Moto power cord and all started working again.
So, for anyone with a V551 who is using a non-Moto car power charger (mine was a Belkin), watch out, the Bluetooth might not work while it is plugged into power.
I also gave this information to the Moto support line...they couldn't answer the question until my cousin informed me of the issue.
