Motorola RAZR V3
Why buy this?
The RAZR is what we call a "fashion phone". It's made to appeal to those want their gadgets to be stylish as well as functional. It's all about the look nowadays for most people and the RAZR solidifies that.
I don't believe it should EVER have been $500.00, no phone (without being a smartphone) is worth that much. Now that it's at a less exclusionary price point ($199.99 on a 2yr contract) it's a lot easier to justify. Not everyone has $500 to plop down on a cell phone with all the same...

It also has very strong reception and doesn't frequently drop calls. Bluetooth is a "nice to have," but not huge for me. Adequate camera - I forgot to charge my digital camera before a day at Disney last week, but no problem - I just snapped pics with my V3. Plus a really good screen to view them on (for a phone).
But it's the thinness that got me. It adds TREMENDOUSLY to its functionality - for me - far more than any tech features it lacks. It is just so easy to carry around in your pocket that I don't regret for a minute having paid the $500 price (I bought it a couple of days before it went up for US public sale). Of course now I'm beginning to see it everywhere, and when they come up to me to show theirs off, I then have to show them how mine does video and theirs does not. 😎
Yes, truly somewhat childish but ....
