I am about throw my v600 through the window. The menu speed and the time it takes for the send key to respond when answering calls is absurdly slooooow. Driving me crazy !!!

Not sure I understand your question. The V600 is a clamshell, do you have it set to require you press a key to answer a call?

Anyway, I just tested my V3 for you. Whether answering by opening the phone or by pressing the soft key when the phone is open, it answers instantly.

Same for menu speed. You press a button, the menu is up in less than half a second.

There must be something wrong with your V600. i know the hinge (specifically, the wiring within the hinge) is crap, maybe your is faulty?

Do you know if there is a way to answer the V3 by using the Bluetooth headset without having to pick up the phone?

I don't have BT device yet, but my understanding is yes (my take is that's sorta the point 🙂 ).

You do have to turn BT on on the phone, though (not automatically on to save battery).

I'll probably get an extra battery or two.
