This is in neither the phone User Manual nor the (Nokia) BlueTooth User Manual

WHEN MAKING A VOICE DIAL CALL FROM YOUR BLUETOOTH EARBUD:

1. Your phone has to be in Standby mode. I failed many times before I was told this by the Nokia rep at the Experience Center.

2. Depress and hold the Call button on the BlueTooth earbud. There will be 3 sound prompts. After the third sound prompt (a quick, short series of whimsical sounding high notes), take your finger off the Call button of your BlueTooth earbud and say the Voice Dial name.

I was experimenting with the phone and failed many times because my 6256i was in the phone book mode (not Standby mode). I was in phone book mode so that I could identify which phone numbers had Voice Tags on them. Having identifed a name that had a voice tag, immediately I tried to do a BlueTooth Voice Dial without sending the screen back to standby mode, and that was the problem. -Lorna

PS: In fact I did not know what Standby mode WAS until today. My prior cell phone experiences have been with my Motorola V60i, which was much simpler than the 6256i.
