functions Mp3's and voice dialing caller id's

I have heard several things and was wondering if someone could clear up some issues.

1. does the verizon version have an MP3 player? I know it wont play mp3's as ring tones but does it have a mp3 player other than that?

2. How is the voice dialing? Is it as simple as hit a button and say a name then it dials or is it hit a button then say dial then say a name then say yes then it dials.

3. Can you assign names to numbers so when that person calls it will show the name on the outside display and not the number?

4. Can you verify you can answer calls w/ in speaker mode w/ the clam closed.

Thanks!

4. Yes you can answer calls with the folder closed by hitting the exterior silver right, top outside phone/camera icon labeled button
3. Shows name of caller not number..but this was tricky, for some reason it wouldn't recognize the name associated with a number that was in two listings. Easily fixed but phone was confused by either the w(wait) code at the end, the two numbers listed for two names, area code and 1 before the numbers or something. I doubt anyone will have normally see this problem, but just in case, you know it can screw up.

2.Voice dialing works a couple of ways. With flip closed hold down the "voice/shutter" key and say the name. You have 25 spaces available for entering prerecorded voice name associated with a phone n...

............Can't end a call from exterior button.
**However, a headset (or Bluetooth headset) with an On/Off button can be used to initiate and end calls with even touching the handset!** Tested this with a on/off headset button and it works to send and end calls. No need to open or even look at the 6256i phone!.

FedEx is delivering my 6256i today, along with my Nokia BlueTooth earbud. So, if I want to use the earbud to MAKE a call, what is the procedure? -Lorna

If you haven't figured it out, first record some voice tags to names in the address book. You can put in 25. Then hit the send button on the earpiece and say the name at the right time. Phone should dial the number. then hit the button to end the call. wella!
Anyway, that how it works with my corded send/end button headset.

I did my voice tags yesterday and I have used the BlueTooth earbud, and I tried the procedure you described above, but never got the Voice Call to activate and initiate the call. I hear two sounds: The first is a sustained sound followed by a staccato beep. I pressed the call/end button until I heard those two sounds in succession. Then I stopped pressing and I...

I tried what you said again, and this time a third sound came up after the other two that I mentioned: several light, playful sounding notes in succession. When I spoke the target name, there was a connection and the call went through.

However, I was only able to hear that third playful notes sound twice (and made two calls). After that, no matter how I pressed the BlueTooth earbud SEND button, that sound never happened again and no call was initiated. ☚ī¸

Well whaddaya know! I kept getting just the two sounds and not the third, so I called the trusty Nokia Experience Center rep, and he reminded me that when I do voice dial from the BlueTooth earbud, the phone itself has to be in STANDBY mode. I did not have the phone in Standby mode when all of those failed calls happened. 😁

(I had left standby mode when I went to the NAMES to find which names I had tied to Voice Dial... and then left the phone at that spot rather than sending it back to Standby mode.")

Got me? I know the handset and earpiece have to be "paired". Maybe this will help...

David hi! And by now maybe you read my post saying how I finally got it right when I called the rep at the Nokia Experience Center and he told me that in order for BlueTooth earbud voice dialing to work, my phone has to be in STANDBY MODE. Once I learned that, I was able to make BlueTooth calls with voice dial and it is great.

In fact, the only possible problem could be that one has to remember which names have a voice tag and which do not! 😁
