I just looked at the online manual for the 6256i. Under the section labeled Bluetooth, the only item mentioned was for pairing handset to headset. Would you presume this to mean that is the only supported profile?

If you look at the manual from nokia for the 6256i which is the verizon manual, there is a whole section 13 which talks about all of the profiles supported by Bluetooth and then a section about how to pair. There are at least 8 different profiles supported, making this phone the most bluetooth functional phone that Verizon has ever issued- unless, there is a change or that it is never issued. 😁

Ӣ Object push profile (OPP)
Ӣ File transfer profile (FTP)
Ӣ Dial-up networking profile (DUN)
Ӣ Generic object exchange profile (GOEP)
Ӣ Headset profile (HSP)
Ӣ Hands-free profile (HFP)

plus GAP and SAP

These are all listed in the manual. Again, there may be a change in the manual or the phone by the time that it is actually issued- if it ever is.

You may be right,, altho I was looking at the manual as listed on the VZ website, and the outside of the manual says Verizon and the phone,, 6256i. I hope i'm wrong, and that it is fully supported.

the manual from Nokia website is the Verizon branded manual and all information is from that manual. Unless the manual is changed, it would seem to have all of the bluetooth capabilities.

Someone sent me a URL for the Nokia 6256i User Manual. The following below is the text for Bluetooth. To see the BlueTooth features supported, see the very bottom of this post.

My question is: is GOEP the feature that lets me transfer photo files from the phone to my BlueTooth iMac?

I sure hope I am wrong. As you say that info is from the Nokia manual, but maybe not from the Verizon manual. I'm not trying to be the devil's advocate, just trying to get correct info.

Nono!!! This manual has red words. VERIZON WIRELESS, stamped on the cover. It emanates from Verizon, not from Nokia. -Lorna
