There is unfortunately no solid evidence which support or disprove a Verizon release though there are clues to the pro side of things. There is the Nokia commercial hinting at a national release this summer also the appearance of the 6256i (supposedly VZW version of the 6255i w/certain features disabled) on a dummy phone site and many unconfirmed reports of speaking to Verizon or Nokia employees also a recent development in the form of the online ESN changer accepting the Nokia 6255i (this could possibly mean that VZW is inputing 6255 ESN's for their launch of it). The only proof that Verizon is not getting it is that it's technology is a bit dated, it hasn't been officially aproved or confirmed even though it supposedly was in testing by VZ...

Thanks for the info. Do you know when VZW will get this phone? or are there inedependent dealers where I could buy this phone?

BTW... why did you say the technology is "dated"?

Uh, by dated I simply mean some of the features of the phone are less "good" or "refined" as phones Verizon is coming out with ie high end cameras (1MP+) or EvDO. There are dealers that will sell it to you unlocked and ready to be used on the VZW Network with some sacrifice of functionality, though minute, (see post named "Verizon + 6255i, or something like that). There is a man named KC on Howards Forums (http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php ?s=ec324d09de518f392656ff255743f65c&forumid=5 1&daysprune=30&sortorder=desc&sortfield=lastp ost&perpage=40&pagenumber=1). This is by the way not an official Verizon phone (yet?) so it will not be covered by any waranty or service by Verizon and will most likely not be even if they do pick it up. So...

I heard from a corp store Verizon rep last week that two new Nokias are coming in the mid-to late-July timeframe.

One is likely an entry-level phone (the 3155?) because they are discontinuing the 6015i. The other one could be the 6255.

Or it could be the 6235... we'll have to be patient another 3 weeks and wait n' see, sadly. 😕

Well I sure hope so too. Though there are rumors that Nokia will only allow Verizon to carry the 6235 if they carry the 6255 so maybe those are the two phones. The 6235 would be a good upgrade to the 6015 which it seems VZW has been doing with Nokia's 3589->6015->6235-> 6255 its a good progression and always good to have a higher end option.

If you read the reviews, you will see that Verizon has the phone in some states already. 😁 🙂 😳

Are you talking about the 6255? I'm not sure what the heck your talking about but I'm pretty sure Verizon dosen't officially carry the 6255i and the people who are using it in this site are using it even though technically Verizon doesn't approve of it.

This phone is not released for Verizon I even emailed Verizon and checked the Nokia page for the 6255i. These individuals are using it even though it hasn't been released for Verizon which can be done with just about any unlocked CDMA phone. Though I wish this ment that it would be released by VZW it doesn't. Sorry if it seems that I'm ragging on you I just wanted to not have people with misinformation and false hope.

NP I'm just really excited about this phone and its possible release at VZW and have been fooled a couple times by falsehoods that I wish someone wouldve taken the time to correct.

I have seen and held the vzw version of the 6255i. I am told that it will probably be released in Aug. Also, I was told that it will be the first VZW phone that will be able to transfer pictures through BT to your CPU. I got this info from my Nokia Rep. The details I'm not 100% on, but I know the phone is coming.... I've seen it with my own two eyes.

You mentioned your Nokia rep, does that mean you are a phone retailer (or work for one)?
