LG VX-8000

Hey, igsr--how do you know that the LG VX 8K will be available by the middle of September?!? The reason I'm asking--I really like this phone, too, and I called both LG in the USA and Verizon today, and neither could give me even a tentative release date.

middle of september? hahaha are you kidding? 🤣 you won't see this phone for at the least another year until verizon fully deploys their 3G network upgrade (being done over next two years). go for the 7000 and you can get this phone next year

That could be true. Or they still could release it before it is fully deployed. AT&T has two W-CDMA phones and they only have W-CDMA service on 1900Mhz in four cities. Verizon also sold 1x phones before the 1x network was completely rolled out. I bought and used a 1x phone in my area months before 1x was turned on.

I keep waiting. The speakerphone is important to me so I'm holding off on the 7000. Considering the price of both and the commitment I need to keep the phone for a couple years it's a no-brainer to get the 8000. I just hope the price is comparable!!! Anything more than 200 or 220 and I might be forced to get the 7000.

I expect the phoen to be more expensive than the motorola 710 because it will be the phone that is able to connect to the broadband network. I would pay more for that feature.

yeahh..the lg vx8000 is going to be.. "THEE cell phone"..like when the t68i came out..it was "THEE cell phone"..t68i was the first cell phone to support mms n pic messages..and it was really small n stylish. so of course its going to be expensive. i just hope its not as expensive as those smart phones
