How many people are on thier second (or more) swapped -exchanged 8000?

Just curious since I'm now on my second 8000 phone. I had to replace my original due to the fact that for some reason it stopped recognizing the EV signal in my neighborhood even though I've had from day one (D.C area). I took the phone into Verizon twice and they reloaded the software and called tech support and when I left the store it would always work until I got home when it would lose the EV signal (4 bars on reception and full battery). I finally called tech support and after an hour of going them, they told me to swap out the phone and noted in my account for another phone.

I returned it the next day and this one works perfectly and for some reason seems faster.

Anyone else on thier 2nd replacement?

I am also on my 2nd 8000, different reasons of course.. sine Ev-DO is not offered in my area yet. The 2 probs i had was my phone was shutting off for no reason throughout the day and a couple times will charging the screen on the inside would be completely white. And it would not reset until removing the bat. My 2nd phone also turns off for no reason.

I'm only on my first...but i might return it for a second. Im not sure if this is the phone or this specific phone-reception is really bad. places where i would get bad service on my v710, i get no service on my 8000. even though the signal is out of 4 bars, it still seems too low for places i am every day.

Ex. 2 bars in my house where my v710 and v120e would get 3-4 bars. Should i get my phone replaced? My 15 days runs out in a few days.

I wouldn't bother trying a new phone, it's very doubtful you'll see any difference. The V710 is one of the best phones as far as reception goes. Just make sure you have version 5 of the firmware; the Verizon store can check and upgrade you for free.

Seriously? I love this phone sooo much! I cant believe that it would have bad reception! Im going to change it, it randomly says no service and then goes back to ok/full service alot. Also, im not sure if this is everyone's phone, but i just noticed my end key seems to be really lowered into the keyboard (im not sure if its broken or not). Anyone have good reception on this phone?

Why would EVDO affect it?

Do not all towers in the EVDO areas have that capacity or is my phone looking for a tower that has evdo that is farther away? IF so, is there a way to STOP that?

I went to the store, and my new phone has version 4. They told me that there is no version 5, and that they probably wont have a version 5 for a couple of months. Should i try a different store to see if they have v5?
