LG VX-8000

I have 2 cables, one that charges my phone, and one that does not. Im keeping one and giving the other one away to a friend. The charging one might be nice when im using it with my laptop for inet when traveling, but i dont know how good these usb cables charge phones. Ive heard mixed reviews. The other thing is the cable that does not charge the phone is for vx6000, while the one that charges is for vx6100/7000. The vx6000 cable is a little snugger then the 6100/7000, but i dont think its damaging.

Any suggestions, personal experience? When its charging i heard some peoples phone it quickly goes to charge complete, but doesnt really fully charge. Ive only used it for a short while but it hasnt done that, yet.
