Although I bought my LG 8000 the first day they became available and am very happy with it in just about every way, I just began playing around with some 15-second video shoots yesterday. I wasn't expecting anything that great, and to be honest, the quality of the video itself is actually somewhat better than I had anticipated (although 15 seconds seems to go by in less than 10 seconds). However, I was disappointed that the sound was barely audible. Perhaps this was to be expected, but I guess I was expecting the moon because a friend of a friend with a Cingular video phone once sent me a video (to my computer) where the sound (voices) was loud and crystal clear.

Camera is on one side of the phone and the mic is on the other side. Based on my experimentation, that seems to cause issue with getting good audio from the direction the camera is pointing.

Can't have everything. The phone cannot replace a camera, mp3 player or a PDA. Just think of these as added bonuses which will improve over the years.

What is this technique for using the speakerphone on the 8000 with the flip closed? I didn't read anything about it, and I would love to know how to make that work.

1. Plug in your headphones that came with the 8000.
2. Activate Your Speaker Phone (CLR)
3. Dial whoever you want...
4. Put the flip closed.
5. Once ringing, take out the plug for headphones.
There is your speaker phone
