Hey everyone,

I've seen the 8000 and got to play with it for a few minutes so here's my take on the phone so far.

Pro's
-Can read text messages on the outside screen
-Crystal clear screens on the inside and the outside
-Same functioning screens as the 7k so if u're used to the 7k, then u won't have to learn another menu system

Con's
-Reception issues which will be worked out i'm sure
-Bigger size than the 7k (could be a pro depending on personal preference)

I haven't tested out the speakerphone, but I hope it's as loud as the 4500's. I forgot to test that while I had it in my hands. I'll try to check it out again when I get the chance. I know this is somewhat lame but it's a small peak into waht this new phone can do. E...

Hi there,

I am envious that you had the opportunity to play with the 8000. I am definitely one of those anxiously waiting. I believe I am reading it correctly, but to clarify does it play mp3 and in regards to the streaming video; can you load video on there such as with some pda phones?

I also heard a rumor about a new moto that would be above the v710...have you heard anything like that?

I really wish they had added blue-tooth to the 8000...that would have been some nice icing on the cake.

It looks like the 8000 has everything I need in a phone. I'm glad they decided to finally put a speaker phone on their top-end phone. I almost bought a Motorola 710, but am glad I didn't after hearing about everyone's problems with it. Hopefully not having Blue-tooth will keep this phone under $300 (with a 2-yr Verizon agreement). 😁

Yea, I liked the 8000 but honestly, it makes the 7000 look like a 670. LOL, but it's a nice phone, big though. I love my 7k and most likely will end up getting the 8k based purely on the features. I haven't seen the specs on it in terms of loading up mp3's or watching streaming video. My guess is that there will definitely be some sort of access fee to use the EVDO capabilities since the EVDO card has a monthly access of 79.99. That's my guess. I'll try to find out if you can load any real mp3's onto the phone in order to listen to music, that would be nice to listen to music while talking to customers. Hopefully they do end up releasing it within a few months. I'll have to go check it out more in depth next week.
