just called them again, and for the 10th time, confirmed that the phones while slated for release on 5-21 and 5-21 is still in their systems, the holdup is w VZW.She said the phones r in warehouse ready to ship but VZW is holding things up for few days maybe to figure out video pricing or whatever, and offered that it might end up being first week of june for the actual phone to hit stores.Never did she ever mention July or late summer or whatever. I'm guessing the decision is with VZW, not Moto, so calling Moto really isn't going to get you the real answer and VZW ain't talkin' so there you go.
I'm betting Moto fulfilled its contract and delivered ready-to-go phones and VZW is horsing around with pricing, or who-knows-what. The telephone campaign, such as it is, should be directed to VZW is my bet.

Ok I just called, just got off the phone 05/18/2004 @ 3:20pm. They told me the v710 will be released some time from now until END OF JUNE. Anytime within that time frame but he doesn't have an exact date. He also said the same goes for the v810. They should be released within the two weeks of eachother but didnt say which one first. thats all he said.

I personally think its sad when I hear people are constantly calling motorola and verizon and bugging their representatives about release dates. I could only wish that was the only thing on my mind during the course of the day. Sure, I check the forums sometimes 3-4x's a day but I'm not annoying hard working americans at their workplace asking them questions that they can't answer. The representatives don't have the real answer, they have the answer they are told to tell people and most of them give different dates depending upon their mood or interest in this product. Sorry the late response but I thought i'd jump in on this.
I agree with BMR 100%. Why call four or five times a day, or multiple times a week, when you receive different answers each time? How is that useful?
Also, i have not read all the replies, but merely stating that someone made a typo and calling them an idiot is noway useful and in the end, is actually completly beside the point.

Let me break this down, Motorola and Verizon are businesses. For them to continue to function they need consumers(us). If as a group of consumers we make our demands known. Be it by calling or camping out this Thursday at a verizon store(just an extreme i heard on HoFo) even though the v710 MAY not be out this Friday if we make our message clear and loud enough they have to take it seriously.
It all depends how committed we are to the cause. For me at least, I want it to be known that if this phone does not come out soon, and if the vx-7000 or sch-a670 is out then I will buy one of those INSTEAD . Hear that Motorola?!

actually i have to agree with BMR12345. half of the dates the verizon reps are giving you are most likely b.s. because they are so tired of getting a million calls a day about this phone. no one is getting anything accomplished by calling verizon every 2 minutes to see what each rep has to say. obviously they dont know because i've seen at least 20 different dates on this phone, if they did know when this phone were coming out then i think we would probably only see one date, not 20. i admit i check this forum once a day to see whats up with this phone, but you guys all seem like a bunch of obsessive nerds over this thing, you guys should probably get a girl or something; or wait you might obsess over her too.

My phone drops calls like every few minutes during a conversation.I've been told that Circuit City has the LG vx6000 for 30 dollars. BMR you're probably right. But another way to look at it is this: If the Moto call center tracks #'s of calls they all this calling is increasing the chances those poor slobs will keep their jobs vs. getting downsized. Of course, they could still loose them to outsourcing I suppose.
