I've been reading some of the pettiness on this board lately and it is really giving me a headache.

If you guys want real info...here is some.

LG 7000
Launch date is 7/1/04. Most stores received small shipments last week so supply is not huge in the stores right now. Belt clip is a swivel clip and you can open the phone with the clip on. This phone is pretty incredible to say the least. Any consumer who got their phone 2 years ago (moto 120/720/Startec...lg vx-510/1/10...kyocera 2135/2235/3035....nokia 5185/3285...etc) are going to look at this phone as a significant upgrade compared to their current cellphone. Phone length is a little longer but it is for the better because some phones on the market are so small the receiver...

Crap - when you said "real people" I thought you would be talking about Skip Stevenson, Sarah Purcell, and Byron Allen! But I guess you would have to be over the age of 30 to get that. By the way - I think you are 100% correct in everygthing you wrote.

Could you answer this as I have asked this twice and have not gotten an answer. How long does the keypad stay lit? I have the lg 6000. love it, but it has a fatal flaw. the keypad stays lit only 5 seconds which is terrible at night. How long does the keypad stay lit with the 7000?

Thanks, but if that is true unfortunately I will not buy this phone. At night I find that this is way to short a time for the keys to be lit. The light goes out sometimes even before I have finished dialing.

I didn't see your question otherwise me or someone would have answered it: Anyway :

It depends on what setting you pick :
settings, 3- display, blacklight pick main LCD or front LCD :

7 seconds
15 seconds
30 seconds
always on
always off

Remember: The longer the light stays on the more it will use up the battery.

Also it has an auto setting that auto shuts it off. (I think that's the case even if you pick always on due to : if you keep it on always then this means the battery is on all the time and that will not leave much life in the battery)

Although the always on does allow the keys to be lit up longer than 30 sec. And of course if you press the a key that will cause it to lit up as well.

Hope that he...

Thanks for answering.
I have the LG6000 and the backlight only works on the screen, not the keypads. The keys still go out after 5 seconds even when the backlight for the screen is on. Can you test this for me and see how long the keys stay lit. I have had many times where they just go off at night. I know about hitting a key, but at night you can't really see what key your are hitting to light up the keys again.

Mifrancis:

hi, I just tried it.

With my phone, the keypad stayed on for about 7 sec. then went off. When I turned the lights off and called someone. The bright light from the main screen it reflected down on the keypad so after the light from the keypad went off the ligth was reflecting down from the main screen on to the keys and I could still see the numbers on the pad and what I was dialing with the lights off in the room.

HI! Sorry about that. You should have asked the people at the 1-800 # to transfer you to the TX call center. If they were doing there job, they should have. Anyone at TX center should/ and could have ordered it for you as well.

I had four of my friends get the 7000 on Monday. Mine, and one more of my friends came on Tuesday due to a mix up in shipping methods. It worked out for us. To bad you had problems. At least you will be able to try it out tomorrow.

With the 7-13-219-6900 # you could have chosen an ext at random. Ext. 4381, 5400, 5201 or etc. to get someone Somthing should have worked if you tried a few times. Or simply pressed zero. Then you should have been transfered to a rep that could order it for you.

The best o...
