Improving reception

Hello, this is my first post here. I just got the VX7000 and I'n not really getting the good reception my wife is getting with her VX4500. She constantly has at least 4 bars wherever she goes while I will barely get 3 bars at most. I've been looking at different sites selling antenna booster stickers and replacement extendable antennae. I was wondering do any of these things actually work, and if so which should I get?

By the way, does anyone have any suggestions as to a nice case (not similar to the holster that came with the phone) for this phone that has a swivel belt clip or possibly a horizontal pouch?

Thanks.

I had the same problem with reception. I tried the stickers, extendable antennae, etc... they're garbage. Don't waste your money. I finally had to dump the phone in favor of a 6100, then Audiovox 9900 and finally a Treo 600. The Treo was the only one with better reception. MUCH better reception. No dropped calls which plagued the other phones as well. Good Luck!

I am in central NC, but the VZW service here is excellent. The problem is mostly situational and more of a dropped call problem. I can walk from one end of my office to the other (about 5K sqft) and drop a call every time. There are a few food stores that most phones won't work in as well. No problems now with any of these situation with my Treo. Solid as a rock. Just wish I didn't have to pay so much for it!

You have to realize, with the 4500, there are more than 4 bars available to see but with the 7000, the reception meter only goes up to 4 bars, so if you have 3 bars on the 7000, you might have four or five or howevermany there are in the 4500...anyway, a call is perfectly clear even when there is no bar!

I'm in Charlotte, NC and my wife and I are getting terrible coverage whenever we are indoors, especially at our house. We've had the phones for two months and this bad reception really just started. Is this something we can make Verizon fix or are we stuck?
