Interesting Phone Book Bug
I've noticed that if you assign a picture to a phonebook entry and then try to scroll to that entry on the external display, the phone bugs out and backs up to the main menu screen. You can scroll through your phonebook just fine until you hit an entry with a picture assigned to it.

Whoa, you're right! I observed the same behavior but I didn't make the connection to the picture thing.
I just removed the picture from one of my contacts, and problem solved.

when showing only primary contacts in your phone book the voice dialing does not work.

I've never been a fan of voice dialing until I received my Bluetooth headset a few days ago. I setup a few voice dialing numbers and found, as you did, that the voice dialing will not work unless the phone is flipped open!
Now, this is truly bizzare considering that the external display actually shows a "progress like" bar for when you are speaking the name of the person you want to call. If it didnt catch it the first time around, it alerts you to try and again - louder. Why on earth would this visual functionality even be built into the external display if the phone must be flipped open to even use voice dialing?
This is truly a shame as one of the main reasons I put out the cash for the Bluetooth headset was to be able to use the vo...

are you showing primary contacts only? i was able to remedy the voice dialing when phone is closed issue by showing all contacts. i too noticed the "process like" bar but no voice dialing. whats strange is not even tech support knows of this issue. i actually exchanged the phone because i thought it was defective. when i received my new phone the voice dialing with phone closed was the first thing i tested. it worked! but as i started to set my preferences (i.e. showing primary contacts only), i found that it no longer worked. so i started to backtrack...and whala...that damn primay contact.

ok here's what i've found on my phone...
when you store the name as a voice make sure you put the phone to your ears and not speak right into the phone's mic, then the voice dialling using the bluetooth works perfectly fine, i think it is something to do with the voice recognition software that the phone uses.

i've encountered the same type of bug attaching ringer IDs to names in my phonebook. very, very inconvienient to not be able to access numbers using the external screen. is this the sort of problem that might be fixed with software updates or something?
