Final Decision

I'm debating on staying with Cingular and getting the V400 or moving over to T-Mobile and getting the Samsung E715. The deciding factor is the ring styles available for the V400. Most reviews on this site states that the V400 does not ring and vibrate at the same time, but then why is it listed as one of the ring styles available in the owners manual? This would only be my 2nd phone with a Nokia 3360 being the 1st when I signed up 2 years ago. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

the v 400 does have a vibrate/ring setting for a ring option, but the phone doesnt do them together ,it vibrates twice then rings to what ever ringtone you have selected!!!!

Hey thanks alot for the tips and advice. 😉 I called Cingular customer service to see if they can match the prices and rebates. They told me no, and that those are only online offers made thru dealers. Now, get this, they also said that if I purchased my phone online, that I could not take my phone to a Cingular Service Center for any repairs or technical issues. 😲 I would have to send my phone back to the original online dealer. 😡 So I guess I may go to WallyWorld and get it for about $130.00 (OKC area) and with only a 1 year commitment!! 🙂

Check out Best Buy. They had the phone for $149 with a $50 mail-in rebate or a $150 mail-in rebate if you buy two (like Family Plan). They only require a 1 year but you can sign up for a 2 if you like.

If i were you i wouldnt sign another contract with Cingular. Buy the phone from somewhere else if you can get it cheaper. I think you can still put insurance on your phone through Cingular which is only like $3.99 a month. That way if you decide you dont like Cingular you can take the phone to another provider without paying the $200 fee for canceling.

i would buy only through cingular authorized and exclusive agents, if you buy from either cingular itself or those guys, cingular will make sure you're taken care of...
