Hi
I am thinking of buying this phone. Most of the calls , I will be making will be from the NY/NJ area to different states in the US. My questions are :-

a) How is the reception of this phone as far as the nation wide GSM coverage is concerned.

b)How long is the battery life , I read some reviews that it sucked . Does anyone has this phone and using this to make calls in the Northeast area.

Thanks

this phone is a nice phone, but i have a couple of little cripes about it. first lets answer your questions.
a: the coverage for nationwide gsm is good and getting better everyday, expecially with the merger of at&t and cingular.there has been alot of people posting replys about there coverage getting alot better w/ the merger.
b; the battery last 2 to 3 days ona full charge w/normal usage,if you play w camera and menus alot you`ll have to charge more often.the best thing to do is let the battery go completly dead the first three times you charge it,this will improve your battery life!!
now my personal complaints:
1) earpiece volume is way to low, but the speaker phone works great and i use that for most of my calls.
2)the phones phoneboo...

Hi
"the phones phonebook sucks. you have to have double entries if you want to keep all of your #`s onthe phome and simcard". Does that mean I need to store phone entries on both the card and phone.

Can you search in the phonebook by first name ormaybe I should wait untill cingular has a better model than this.

you dont have to have double entries ,but if you want to have pictures and ringtones for individual entries you have to store them in the phone. you can always copy all of the entries on the phone over to the sim if your going to change phones. the sim card stores all of your info on it so when you switch phones all you have to do is put your sim in and all of your #`s are loaded on the new phone.you could store all of your #`s onthe phone then if you are changing phones tehn you could copy all of the #`s over to the simcard. also check out the new samsung e317 on this site, its going to be out soon!!!

CATAGORIZE YOUR PHONEBOOK AS PHONE AND YOUR SIM ENTRIES AS SIM AND WHEN YOU ARE IN YOUR PHONBOOK GOTO MENU AND TELL IT YOU ONLY WANT TO SEE THE PHONE CATAGORY AND YOU WILL ONLY SEE THE INTERNAL PHONEBOOK.
