Aftermarket Faceplates

Does anybody have experience and/or comments on changing an aftermarket faceplate on the V400? Just ran into the first I've seen at

Is this a true replacement to the faceplate or does it just clip on top of the existing one?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Just got one of these and chaged the faceplate on my phone. They're true replacements for the top cover and battery door. So the top piece only covers the side with the camera and outer LCD; the other side with the main LCD as well as the bottom half of the case are not changed.
You will need a Torx #6 screwdriver to remove 4 screws to swap it out. After removing those screws you have to exert a fair bit of force to pop off the original top cover, but it should come off without damage. You'll also need to swap over the little Motorola 'M' from the old top cover.

Thanks!

I got the black and silver one and I like it. The battery door itself seems to be obviously painted when I look very closely at it (see slight swirls in it indicatingt different thickness of paint) but the top cover I could see no such thing. To me, it looks nice and glossy overall and not cheap. Of course it doesn't quite have that same slightly metallic sheen of the original silver case, and as I mentioned the middle silver pieces (with the stippled or "dotted" pattern) in the top cover do seem a little loose whereas the original top cover doesn't hav...
