sgalvan8,
You're clicking on the wrong link. Do not click on the version 2 link. From motclub.com, first download the "Motorola Mobile PhoneTools 1.23c Original English" version. Then download the "Motorola Mobile PhoneTools 2.16 Update English" version.

You'll probably also need to go over to the Drivers link to download the USB drivers.

After you install the 1.23 and 2.16 update, from Motorola Phone Tools, run the Live Update to bring you up to the latest and greatest version.

Hope this helps!

i already tried doing that, it searches for a updates, and finds them. it says from version 2.16 to 2.19 then 2.19 to 2.19a and finally to 2.20, so i download the updates and it finishes and says click here to start the installation process, and when i do that, the program closes and nothing else happens. i dont know where the files are saved to because it never gives me an option of where to save them. this is the problem i'm having, and i dont know what to do. maybe its something with my computer

It could be something with your computer, but before we decide that, lets try a few things first.

1) Uninstall EVERYTHING you have related to Motorola Phone Tools (you can do this by using the Add/Remove Programs under the Control Panel).

2) After everything is uninstalled, Reboot your PC.

3) Install the "Motorola Mobile PhoneTools 1.23c Original English" version.

4) Reboot your PC.

5) Install the 2.16 upgrade.

6) Reboot your PC.

Now, unfortunately I don't have access to my computer at home (I'm at work), so I'm not positive if I'm running 2.16 or 2.19. But, what you can try doing now is running Motorola Phone Tools (without doing the upgrade) to see if it will run. If not, then do the upgrade and see if it will work.
