Nokia 6230

Incoming Call Static

I've had my 6230 for about two months and am having a problem with incoming calls. Sometimes when people try to call me, all I can hear is heavy static, and they are forced to hang up and call me again. This only happens when I am receiving calls, and I'd say it's about 1/10 incoming calls, give or take a couple. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong? Complicating my problem is the fact that I'm in college in NYC, and my phone number/contract are at home, in Chicago, so I have a hard time getting things fixed. Thanks very much.

Yeah, I'm in NYC also (with a Philadelphia number) and get the same exact problem.

Also, often when people call me they just get dead air for a few moments and then a busy signal. My friend who is in DC (also with a philly number) has the same problem. Any ideas?
