this phone is not scrapped, it will be out shortly, just let the (wasted) hipe over the 7000 die down.

i called in bout a week ago to our service line (not customer service) and i had a rep tell me that they actually were all given spec sheets on it with a pic. i asume these r close to the pics n specs that were posted on here not to long ago. since then i have asked multiple reps most of wich (bout 75%) have given me the same anser. so jus sit back, relax, and think about all the stuff ur gona be able to record 😁

I hope you're right, but I kinda got a feeling we are not going to see the 9900. There was a Verizon Employee on HowardForums who said that all of the accessories for the 9900 ha...

i dont think the phone got scrapped but picked up by Sprint. It did get scrapped by Verizon (probably) but this was a highly anticipated phone. Oh well.

This phone was out for sprint as the 9950, or VM4050, months ago. We've been waiting on the Verizon version. If this phone is cancelled, it will only be more sales of the 7000. The 710 will be out of most people's price range. Without the Audiovox to take up video consumer market share, LG is cheering because everyone will be buying 7000's.

You are right about the Sprint version and I agree with your analysis about the 710 and 7000. It just pisses me off because I want a speakerphone and I need analog. I consider a speakerphone a basic feature on a modern cell phone and LG leaves it off most of theirs. Also, I travel through Louisiana quite a bit and much of that area is analog. I believe it ...

Hold on for MOTO. I have played with the 710 and really like it. The speaker phone is good and feel of the phone is nice. If you like Moto's menus, then you will like this phone. I got spoiled with LG's menu but like the Samsung almost as well. The striking appearance of the 710 and Bluetooth is what make me almost willing to go back to Moto. The transflash memory that is upgradeable is capable of downloading almost a 2 hr movie and when in the phone, you can watch it. You will also be able to take a 3 minute video instead of 15 sec. with the upgraded memory card.

Dont fall in love with the MOTO menu though... from now all on all the phones, regardless of brand, will have the same menu setup as the 7000

You do realize that for AT&T and Cingular to even get close to the VZW coverage, you are going to be waiting a good year or so more. They are not even cooperating as one company yet, let alone getting their towers to work on the others network so quickly. I would agree on the needs you have and going to another provider, but service is golden, and needed. Right now, and for a little bit, all the other carriers really do not come close.

I think it is sad Verizon does not offer ONE phone that meets my 3 BASIC requirements:
1. Clamshell design
2. Tri-Mode
3. Decent Speakerphone

It may be coming down the pike. Check out the specs for the Motorola v260 and v265.
