how do u get mp3 ringers
...
Just do a search on the internet, you can find many everywhere!
...
So you want MP3 ringers eh? First some things you need to know:
1.) You can have Mp3 ringers on your 9900, but they can't be the whole song. There's not enough memory on the phone, and in the pix message that you will be sending it in for the full song!
2.) You'll need to be able to edit Mp3 files in order to truncate them to acceptable sizes. You'll need basic editing knowledge as well as a Program that can edit Mp3 files!
3.You'll also need a basic understanding on the different Mp3 encoding techniques in order to make it easier to further reduce the file size of the Mp3's.
4.) These will be explained briefly in this guide, so don't FRET!!
Now with those out of the way let's get down to business.
Basically, think of a son...

Can't you also record a song through voice memo? Is the quality not as good?
...
VERY good idea. I got to try that. Maybe the sound won't be as clear but hey, it' a cell phone and not an MP3 player. Gonna try that just as soon as I am done typing 😁
...
well does that voice memo work can u really get ringers like that
...
Actually not really. the sound does not come out good at all. So, back to sending midi ringers 🙂

...
summit. Sorry you're having probs. Here's the Answers.
1.) VZWPix is VEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYY Screwy right now!!!!!!! Whether you're using the site or emailing your pix message to your phone@vzwpix.com address via standard email, or even phone to phone pix messaging, It's gonna take a LOOONG time for the message to get through! There is obviously something wrong with the whole system that's causing these probs. I checked other forums and same thing! It took my pix message nearly a day to arrive on my phone this morning that I sent out late yesterday morning! Hopefully VZW will have these probs fixed soon!! So don't expect to get your ringtone on your phone anytime soon by ANY means!!
2.) The problem you're having renaming your M...

Josh--thanks for the posting. I too am a little confused on mp3 ringtones--I have read all of the postings with instructions and I appreciate them, but have run into some issues which I was hoping you could help me with.
First of all everyone says to send the email with the mp3 attached from your favorite e-mail program to yournumber@vzwpix.com--doesn't that go to the vzwpix website??? How would that go to your phone?
next, when people talk about converting a wav to a 24kbps file, i used musicmatch to do this. I am not sure if it is stereo or mono--how can you tell?
Thanks for the instruction for changing the file extension. That worked well.
thanks a lot!

WHEN I SAY THIS PHONE SUCKS,i was wrong, you all suck, I voted for Bush .
for real this is a great phone, but 49.00 is a little much. wait for a sale, buy one get one FREE.
...
LoL...what does voting for Bush have to do with this?
...
Why in the world would anyone want to vote for Bush?? If something awful was to happen to our dear Bushie, then we'd have a dick for a president......
...
You mean we don't have a dick for a president now?
...
Well, what we have ladies and gentlemen is a Bushie ( *****cat) 🤣

jj333 No prob, happy to help.
1.) On your first question, Emails sent to yournumber@vzwpix.com ultimately get to your phone. You are quite right though, up to a point. Vzwpix.com is simply the server that handles the transport of pix messages. It works like this:
You create a new Pix message on your mobile (or on your computer for that matter) to send to your friend Joe's mobile. You address it to "joesmobilenumber@vzwpix.com and hit send.
The file and message are uploaded from your phone (or computer via email) and are then sent across the internet to a very, VERY large set of computers which are called: www.vzwpix.com! (yup every website you ever visit is really just a running computer(s) hosting the page you're looking at!) Both...

Thanks Josh--I really appreciate the message. On a similar issue--is it possible to attach mid files to a text message instead of sending through the vzwpix site? (ie., sending to joesmobilenumber@vtext.com from a home computer e-mail with an audio file attached)?
...
jj333,
Yes, but you must send it to joesmobilenumber@vzwpix.com
You can't send Pix messages through vtext.com
...
ok thanks a lot man, i got file extention rigth, not a igot a ? i forgot to ask. on vzwpix.com i got it working and all then i made message and tryed to send it, and it said error 4007 service univable, i think thats cuz i dont have moble web on my fone so i cant get email i think, but it cost $5 a month, do i have to have this???
...
surrat, Try it again tomorrow when they have things repaired. The site has been going through major probs including not being available. If it doesn't work tomorrow, Customer Support. I don't think you need mobie web on your phone to do pix messaging.

Hey I did eveything rite, when i sent the clip to my 9900 however on my phone i just got a txt message that said you've got a pic go here to view it...?
...
Ryan,
Sounds to me that you don't have Picture Messaging enabled on your service plan. I'd call Customer Care to make sure you do!
...
I told you that this phone would still be 49.00
now it's Buy one get one free !! 😉
...
It's buy one 9900 and get a LG VX-3200 free
...
That "free" vx3200 will cost you at least $480... because you must take a two year contract on that phone and the cheapest way to do that is to add it on as an additional line on a family share plan at a cost of $20 per month... 20x24=480
...
Unless you already have a line on your family share plan that is eligible for upgrade. Then you would be spending the money anyway.
But, if I have to extend the contract on that line for two more yearss, I would go ahead and spend the $50 to get another 9900 (which I did for all 3 of my eligible lines).

I've been having some trouble getting ringers to my 9900. I have a 710 and it's easy to get mp3's (renamed .mid) to my phone. I go to www.walmart.com and download songs, rename them with a .mid extension, and send them to my 710. This isn't working for my 9900, though. It says, "unsupported file type audio/mid" when it receives the message. Why is this happening?
...
just wondering if someone knows how long the pix message takes to receive when sending a converted mp3. to mid. ringtone.
...
Hi, Okay I got the song formatted all right exactly how you said, its 128KB, however when I upload it on www.vzwpix.com it plays the full 28 seconds but then on my phone only like 8 seconds play...
...
did you save it to your ring tones folder?, when you listen it through the email it only plays a lil bit of it, then when you save it/ options/save/sound, then its the full midi, i actually figured this out, lol
...
I tried following the steps, but when I try to preview the song at vzwpix, it doesn't play, like there's nothing there, so I sent it to the phone anyway, but it did the same thing, it was almost like there was nothing there to play. Has this happened to anyone else???
...
I send my phone midi ring tones and I have absolutley no problems. If I want music. I use my cd player 😁
...
😈 😢
I think I have done everything right, but I can't seem to change the name from .mp3 to .mid.
I can get it to say NAME.mp3.mid, but I don't think that is right.
Any help would be appreciated on how to change the extension correctly
Thanks
...
to rename .mp3 to .mid, you must force windows to show extensions. to do so, in the folder where your rings are, go to tools -> folder options -> view and then uncheck hide extensions for known file types. that'll allow you to change the .mp3 extension to .mid
also - has anyone had any sucess sending rings in the last 24 hrs, i just got my phone yesterday and have send about 8 emails to my phone from vzwpix and other email clients and nothing has gone though. wondering if it is something i am going or the system still
...
Using the instructions from a previous post, it said to keep the size at about 200K. I have done this and sent it to my phone. Only the first 5 sec plays and I know I am suppose to savi it from therre but it says that the memory is full. I deleted a bunch of the preset ringers and images but there is still no room. Anybody else with the same problem??? Any info would help
Thanks
...
what i did was look for mid files on the net. they are much smaller say about 8-20 kb. i had the same problem with a mp3 that i cut and renamed as name.mid at 250k that was 15 secs long but was able to send a true mid that i found on the net that was 1 min 20 secs long and 12kb. was able to save and hear the whole thing as a ringer.
