Speakerphone Rig ....

🤣 Ok, one of the gripes with this phone is that you can't use the speakerphone while the phone is closed, well we can remedy that one easily. You can fix this one two ways (I don't recommend the first, but some of you may try it).

Either way, you will have to adjust your backlight shut off settings to preserve battery life. Sorry this is so long, but here goes.....

1. Open your phone and look at the bottom left of the LCD. Notice there is a little nub just below the check mark on your "Verizon" logo. This nub hits the switch that tells the phone to go into a "standby" kind of state when you close the phone. This also ends calls. If you file off a portion of this nub, your phone will always stay "on" (kinda). This will allow...

It's surprising how everyone expects phones to do things they weren't meant to do and no one can ever be happy with what they have. It's kinda funny to read some of the posts. First off, I would never take a file to my phone and smooth away anything to make it do something it was not meant to do. Now, people expect their phone to act as a flashlight? LOL.

Now, on to the more important things, the only complaint I find with my 9900 is that it's not capable of calling domino's by itself and order me a pizza. LOL

I think that some of these folks should try to design a phone themselves and see if they can make EVERYONE happy. I think not. As for me I think it is a great phone with some features I will probably never get to.

😁 Mickey,
Thanks!!! That's just what I needed. I didn't use the file option, but I jammed in a small piece of med tape and I'm all set.

I keep my phone clipped on my work clothes, now I can use the speaker and keep both hands free to work with patients when I'm getting orders from nurses and docs. headsets are not an option.

Ease up folks. Just because you're not interested in something doesn't mean it can't help someone else.

For those of you who do not want to use a file (don't know why you would want to do that in the first place), there is a completely easy way to solve your speakerphone problem and not cosmetically alter your phone. Take the holster that came with the phone.

Open the flip on the phone, and load the bottom half of the flip into the holster while keeping the upper flip open. Push the phone into the holster until you hear the regular clicking sound that you hear when you load the closed flip into the holster (If you look at the antenna end of your phone, you will see that the clip notch for the holster clip is on the bottom flip portion of the phone).

Your phone is now securely in place in the holster to use on your sun visor, belt l...

I suspect your suggestion is how it is meant to work. If you twist the clip on the holster, it fully exposes holes in the holster that match up precisely with the speaker holes in the phone.
