Audiovox CDM-9900
I have it, but have some questions...
#1) How do you adjust alert tone volume? Ringer is loud enough, but the alert tone for text messages is barely audible.
#2) Can you change the banner? This somehow effects the subscreen. When a call comes in the callerid information is displayed on the sub screen, but alternates between CID info and "Verizon Wireless." Yes, I know i have a VW phone, don't interupt my CID information to remind me!
This just does not seem as customizable as other similar phones.
Other than that, I am happy with the phone. I actually bought one for myself and my wife.

don't know about alert volume but I know with an audiovox you can't change the banner

Probably you might be able to change the banner. Audiovox technicians helped me do it with the 9500?

Gee, I have to tell you, when they (Audiovox)
helped me, I called them on a land line and wrote the steps down for the 9500. Then I read them back to the Technician very very carefully. Once that was verified, we went thru it step by step with my cell phone in hand and me speaking over the land line. We were able to put my name on the bannor. I believe you actually open up the Software of the phone, they were reluctant to do this with me, until I convinced them I have experience doing this with software of a inertial navigation system. Procedures will absolutely differ from the Audiovox CDM-9500 we did this with. I recommend giving the Verizon Technicians a few weeks to get used to this phone first, then give them a try when their not busy...

Lookn, double check your user's guide. You SHOULD in fact be able to change the banner. This is one of the features Audiovox included from the 8900 and hack boards, so I'm told.
The method to change the banner on the 9500 will NOT work on the 9900. It was a hack on the 9500, and the program menu is quite different on the 9900.

Perhaps I've passed it by, but I've searched the user's manual on changing the banner and I have come up empty handed. Do you know of a way to change the banner, or could it be a software issue?

i have not seen this phone nor handled it, however i did own a 8900 and you could not change the verizon banner on the outside, back, or inside
...
My apologies......Not the 8900 but the 9950, and my apologies again, cause the banner change is not in the manual but it is in fact a hack.
I don't see anything on CellPhoneHacks.com for the 9900 just yet......guess we'll have to keep looking.
