V60P Alert volume?

Hello,
Just wondering how loud the alert tone is on the PTT feature. I was going to purchase this phone but the Rep talked me into an LG4700.

The alert volume on the LG is virtually impossible to hear unless its in your hand.

I am considering exchanging this phone for the V60P but if the same problem exist with the V60P I won't bother.
I am used to a Nextel alert that can be heard from another room.

So I guess what Im asking is:

1. Is the alert tone just as loud as the contant "beep, beep, beep " from the Nextel phone ?

2. Is the alert tone changable ?

Again I need to make a change cause the alert on this LG is terrible.

Brian, the alert tone is loud on the v60p just like nextel unfortunately the v60p doesn't have many pros at all because of its first release on the phase1 ptt.Now that its on phase2 ptt it may be better but not sure.And the alert tone is not changeable from what i know on the 4700 cause i had it but thank god i went back and exchanged it for the kyocera kx444.Your right u can't hear the alert on the 4700 i don't think even someone from NASA can hear that alert.I have had lg phones for the past ten years now and this is the first time they dissapointed me.Why wouldn't u make that alert louder or maybe able to change it but anyways.I exchanged my lg 4700 for the kyo kx444 and it was a great decision.
