So, should I go for it? I have the original packaging for the 4400B in my car in the anticipation that I may stop by the Verizon store after work to swap it for the 4500.

Or do you think I should keep the 4400B?

I sa y go for it, in the end you will have another 15 days (me thinks) to swap it out. But if you forced the 4400 into digital only and yoo were good for signal the 4500 will be better (my 4400's have dropped more calls in my house than my 4500, I live in a bad coverage area)

Sorry for the the late response. I say go for it if the digital coverage is there. I had a 4400B on trial and am several days from the end of my 4500 trial. with all of the info posted , you should have a good head start on your trial.

They are giving you two trial periods? I read the agreement and you are only allowed to have one 15 day trial period with only one exchange in that 15 day period, unless it's due to equipment failure. Changing doesn't extend your trial period (if I understand it correctly) and once you change once, you can't change again.
