Hi does anyone know how to stop getting that tip msg every time you go to your phone? I know I can make it go away by hitting the bottom on the screen by there has to be a way to make it not say to dial a number start typing or to dial by name.... HELP PLEASE or are we stuck with this feature?

every time you hit the phone button your contacts are there and then about half way across screen just above the dial pad it says in a gray box "enter name or number tap to see tip"
now you can hit the button next to call and it goes away but there should be a way to make it not be there every time no? it is on every phone at the store so i know it is not just mine.

Oh, now I know what you're talking about. The smart dialer.
I don't think you can keep it from popping up by default, but I can't understand why you would want to.
It just provides a quick way to get to the number you want to call. Your 4 most recent calls are still visible from the top of the screen without minimizing the dialer.
It also goes away as soon as you start to scroll through your recent calls/contacts from the top of the screen.

haha touche! Even my Eris didn't have a manual...just keep messing with it, it's pretty easy to figure out once you get used to a lot of the features.

Hey Warshit, you sarcastically use this standard reply to a lot of people, insinuating we are somehow dumb and that the answers are in the manual. When questioned, you run away and hide.
If you know so much then why not help someone out? A manual DOES NOT come with this phone! Oh, there is a .pdf file that is 167 pages long but some of us have lives away from computers and it would be nice to have a little book. Still, we might read through the .pdf manual and miss the answer. We're human. Since you know all the answers, please help those of us not as smart as you.
