1. You can only get 2 year pricing every 20 months (if you are a single line or the primary on a family plan, you can get it ever 12 if you have a high value plan)

2. Look for nationwide talk and text + 29.99 email and web

Menno...
Questions for you:

I am in the 14th month of a 2 year contract with Family Plan of 2100 minutes (contract ends 12/2010). I have my Primary Phone and two additional phones for grandchildren.

I recently received e-mail offer from VZW to upgrade my Primary Phone (Omnia i910) to the new HTC Incredible at the 2 year pricing of $199. This is of interest to me.

1. What is a "High Value Plan"?

2. How does the VZW offer fit with your thinking based upon the specifics of my contract?

3. If I take the "early" VZW offer, do I loose my $100 NE2? If I do loose NE2, is there another way of keeping the NE2; i.e. another line?

I appreciate your input. Thanks!

1. High value plan is any plan where the base cost (without data plans or added features like anything but unlimited texting) where the cost is 59.99 or higher (before tax). So your 2100 minute plan would qualify

2. That offer is a valid one. by your plan, you have one that qualifies for an annual upgrade (which is 2 year pricing every year for your line one)

3. If you get an upgrade to your phone, your NE2 will be reset. You'll "lose" the 100 credit because the maximum credit is now $50, because phones are discounted a LOT more than they used to be. Your NE2 will reset to 20months AFTER the day you activate your incredible, but you'll be able to get the annual upgrade in a year.

NE2 credits are a reward to you for fulfilling...

I pre-ordered the Incredible this afternoon. But, I am afraid it was so close to their 4pm cut-off time for today's shipping that I may have missed out.
I did get their e-mail with order # saying I was in the "queue" but that was all.
Thanks for your assistance.
Best regards.

You only get a discount every 12-20 months on new equipment. That $500+ pricetag is what the equipment costs Verizon to purchase. Sell your touch pro and use what you get from it to put towards the out right cost of the Incredible.

And for the priceplan... You are not allowed to grandfather priceplans online. That priceplan no longer exists. Maybe you should make your way into a store where they can further assist you.
