Will sprint be able to do voice & the internet at the same time...this is a question for mag51085? I hear this is not a hardware issue on HTC, but rather a software issue from either Sprint or Goggle? So as a sprint employee (mag51085)could you give a little insight on this matter?

There hasn't been any OFFICAL word yet. However from what I understand from the tech support people is that the txt/voice will still be 3G and the data portion will be on 4G. therefore it should be able to support being on a call and surfing the net. But again they haven't officially released any info about it. Its not a software compatibility issue it has to do with the network. Honestly I don't know how it is that att is able to do it considering they are only 2G/3G but who knows with the way that tech. is today. When I know more info about this feature I will definately post to let you guys know.

Thank you for the info! My friend had the iphone when It first released but was disappointed when he got on the internet then switch to Sprint for speed & as far as At&t goes the internet is alot slower that than Sprint (ie;3G vs 3G) Everyone should know the order by now 1.Sprint, 2.Verizon, 3.AT&T, 4.T-Mobile and I don't need any flaming from any fanboys these are Internet speeds that have already been proving by PC World...with real live test results in over 13 markets!

Actually T-Mo with HSDPA+ is producing 7.2mbps which is faster than any other 3G connection. And Verizon is not faster than At&t either.

The reason that At&t as well as T-mo are able to do data and voice simultaniously is the network they use. Right now Sprint is using EVDO, however they wanted to develop what was called EVDV back in something like 2002 but Verizon petitioned the FCC at the time claiming that the standard ( see: Verizon saving money for an inferior technology)should be EVDO. Anyway they won out and we now have EVDO.

joey is correct. it is the network that does not allow sprint or verizon to talk and browse. with the gsm network att and tmobile use it supports voip. the cdma network cannot use the bandwidth to support. and i do agree that att is not slower then verizon. that 7.2mbps is the lte network that most carriers are trying to develop besides sprint.

I read an article this morning while being an insomniac, if you are able to surf the web using 4G the CDMA radio will allow you to talk on the phone at the same time. This article referenced sprint in the information.
