T-Mobile might drop the Moto v600 soon. To begin I never liked the phone. I have the d-415 and it's great!!! But on the other hand the Moto v600 isn't doing so good. Orginally Moto says the v600 was made ONLY for AT&T(GSM).
But since Cingular & T-Mobile got interested in it they sold it to them not saying the problems they might have since the software isn't ment for thier system. Moto didn't care b/c they were getting the money. So Cingular & T-mobile started testing it with thier systems and they started to find about the problems. But after a while with messing with the software Cingular had made it work .... But not for long!! So they dropped it !! Like a couple days ago. And T-mobile had the phone for like 5 months until they released ...

Home page of Phone Scoop says V620 is the update to V600, with new black design and video clip recording. Available Q4 2004.

Perhaps this is why they're dropping it, not due to any problems?

"Moto says the v600 was made ONLY for AT&T(GSM)"
😁 Are You Kidding Me???? 😁

Hey kid...use your brain to think before you speak!!! You think USA is the only place in the world??? 🤣 V600 has been around the Asia market for like a year or more, so how could that be possible for the V600 originally made for AT&T, there are no AT&T in Asia!!

Moreover, T-Mobile and Cingular systems are completely different!! T-Mobile use GSM 1900, Cingular & AT&T uses GSM 850!!! Cingular dropped the V600 coz the phone cannot hold a signal on the 850Mhz, that's why both the AT&T and Cingular versions of V600 sucks and got tons of complaints.

At last, I agree with you on one point. Despite the 850Mhz issue, yes, there are a lot of bugs an...

No!! I am not kidding you!! Motorola reps said and still say it. That when the Moto v600 comes it will be & was made for At&t wireless. They also said even tho it might & might not work for cingular or t-mobile. That it is compatible with them but it was intended for At&t only. And this v600 has probally diffrent software & frequency compared to the other one in asia. So this is the USA verison of it! And by the way use your brain before YOU speak ok? Cause I did. And I know USA isn't the only place in the world. Where did you get that from. I didn's write anything before that would lead you to that conclusion? Is there? Or are not using your head again? 🙄

I think he was implying that if it was ment for ATT only, it would only be in the US.

I can't really believe that only ment the phone for ATT though, since the company will become cingular in a couple months. I don't think motorola is really going to design a phone with the intention of selling for only 6 months ever (the time between when it came out and when they'll get picked up by cingular).

the phone was not only for AT&T. They did have the exclusive US rights for the phone. which I think buys them 30 days to sell it before other carriers can get it. They've done this with other phones in the past also.

"But since Cingular & T-Mobile got interested in it they sold it to them not saying the problems they might have since the software isn't ment for thier system."

ok, couple of things right off the bat. there is no ONE software for any phone. each service provider installs their own software. there are basic software that stay on each phone, but it in no way hinders a providers system since the manufacturer's software is for the most part not transmitable (and those that are, are usually cancelled out by the provider if it is something they do not use, and again, it does not hinder cell phone operation).

second, i just got done speaking with t-mobile regarding the v600 and asked if there were any customer complaints filed. i was tol...

Hey!!! Do me favor call Motorola Customer Care and ask wich service provider was the v600 ment for!! OK? They will tell you cuz they told me that is was ment for AT&T. OK??? And I also want to know the list of compliants that you got about the 415. And again about v600, T-Mobile they did tell me about some features that might not work with the thier service like t-zones and the ablitity to download ring tones, wallpaper stuff like that. ok....
And so far I have no complaints about the 415. Its a very good phone. I just need to know how to setup the E-Mail Client feature. But thats not a compalint. It's just question....

v600 was originally intended for the european market. the software upgrade was added for at&t when introduced to the us market. since at&t is on a different gsm structure, some issues regarding compatability did surface (tmobile is on par with european gsm service, hence, compatability issues have not arose).

as for the d415, the main issue has been the sliding feature itself. it's losens up after several uses (several uses may equate to 100+ as some customers use their cell phones for business and are more apt to losen the slider feature than casual cell phone users). others include phone book erasures when the battery dies (apparently when the battery fails, the last numbers dialed erase themselves from the phone book, but only thos...
