Cassie where've you been?? I could really use your help with the distinctive caller light ID set up. The default light ID color setting is supposed to be overridden when a call comes in from a phonebook category with a different color setting chosen, so callers from a given category are displayed by the category's light color and general calls are displayed by the default color, or so I thought. However I'm finding đ calls from numbers in specific categories are coming in with the default color rather than the category's color, defeating the point of having different colors for different categories!! I must be doing something wrong but I cannot figure out what!!!! Please help.

Hiya Phoney!
Hmm .. I'm not having this problem .. what flash/firmware/flex are you using on your v600?
I'm using the 1DR_A flash/flex from cjb.

Thanks for getting back to me Cassie. I figured out the problem-for phone numbers in my own area code I did not enter an area code in their phonebook entry as it seemed superfluous. When a phone call came in from my own area code, the phone would not recognize the phone number as being listed in my phonebook, so the default color would kick in (it also would not show these callers' names unless I included our common area code).
I couldn't find anything in the manual that explains this, but the bottom line seems to be that even though you don't need to manually dial the area code to call someone in your own area code, you do need to enter the area code
in the directory if you want to take advantage of the distinctive lights feature as wel...

Ok, I contacted Motorola yesterday about a crack I have in the black lense of the face of the flip.
CS said that their policy is that the US National Service Center (motorola's) will not repair phones that are not bought in the US.
She said that in order to have any warranty or out of warranty work done, you'd have to send it to the country where the phone was manufactured in in order to have any service done on it......
How stupid is that?
She did say that you might have luck in getting a local authorized Motorola service to try to repair the problem (ie my cracked lense).
I called one of them by my house and he said he could order the part and fix it in house.
Whatever!!!!

That's good b/c the person I talked to said the US National Svc Center wouldn't fix a phone bought overseas and that they'd fix only US bought phones.

Cassie!! Hi, and I'm here with you on the 'new' forum. Before it was all Plemix, flash flex, etc. Now it's all ATT! Btw, I got the ATT version and will be ebaying my Plemix this afternoon. Too many hassles trying to upgrade the firmware and find someone who would do it for me. I must say I'm happy with the ATT version except for this auto-shutdown bug after accessing messages... talked to them today about it and need to call NBO on Monday for a new phone.
